Business Need or Challenge
Freddie Mac, a major mortgage packager and reseller and anchor V.E.T.S. Program client based in Virginia, needed to provide the capability for real-time data corrections in its internal Fixed Income Selling System. They created the Operational Data Management (ODM) Project to implement this. The ODM tool provides:
- An expedited process for running Digital Correction Utility
- Role based process permissioning
- Granular process audit capabilities
- Real-time pretesting of execution results prior to committing changes to the production database
- Database updates in the production environments
Sharp Decisions’ Solution or Participation
Sharp Decisions V.E.T.S. Quality Assurance Analysts worked closely with the Business Analysts, Project Manager, Developers, and Testers to create and execute test cases that would check functionality and usability. They were involved in the testing of the ODM system as well as collaborating with the Business Analysts and Developers to update non-functional requirements. The test team was comprised of three testers, two of which were from the Sharp Decisions V.E.T.S. team. The test team was able to complete the project nearly one month ahead of schedule.
Benefit or Outcome
The client was able to utilize the V.E.T.S. QA Analysts’ skills to become more efficient and effective sooner than projected when dealing with customer issues. The Sharp Decisions V.E.T.S. QA team played a significant part in the successful deployment of the ODM application by effectively testing the application as well as adjusting to changing requirements through the final test cycle.
