Experian employs over 16,000 people with offices in 39 countries, and providing primarily credit data and analytical tools to clients around the world had a critical project testing various mobile applications, where time to market was a major factor.
The customer had adopted an extremely aggressive deadline to get their new consumer credit application into the Apple and Google mobile app stores in advance of their competition.
Sharp Decisions’ Solution
Experian engaged Sharp Decisions, Inc. (SDI) and their V.E.T.S. Program for the QA testing of the mobile and web applications. Due to the rigorous standards expected by the company, SDI needed to ensure a team consisting of our absolute best Quality Assurance Analysts/Testers would do an excellent job. SDI tailored the V.E.T.S. training curriculum to prepare the team of QA Analysts for the environment, methodologies, tools and languages used at the company. Within 3 months the Client’s internal management began reporting back that the V.E.T.S. team’s ability to adapt to changing environments, tools and methodologies was leading to faster and more accurate delivery than their other internal and offshore resources. The company’s developers reported that the “defect reports from the Sharp Decisions team were more clear, complete, and understandable than those created by the company’s own test staff. This allowed for faster resolution of software issues.”
Specifically in the Quality Assurance area, Sharp Decisions has contributed in the following: Extensive testing against both the iOS and Android versions of the credit monitoring mobile and web applications including defect tracking, test case execution, regression and smoke testing. The V.E.T.S. team also performed compatibility and comparison testing across a wide range of devices, such as the desktop website, Android and iOS to ensure expected functionality. Our team also worked closely with the development team of Android and iOS programmers regarding defects for the mobile app and Omniture (SiteCatalyst). Our team’s work with this was so outstanding that the mobile app was accepted by Apple for usage on the iPhone & iPad by download from the Apple App Store and accepted and launched into the Google Play Store as well.
